Josef Pieper was born in 1904. He was schooled in the Greek classics and the writings of Thomas Aquinas. He studied philosophy, law, and sociology and has been a member of the faculty at the University of Münster since 1946. Dr. Pieper has lectured widely at American universities, and in 1962 he traveled to India for a lecture tour.
